The Govt scheme of Ehsaas Program is a comprehensive poverty alleviation and social safety net initiative introduced by the Government of Pakistan. It aims to address the needs of the most vulnerable segments of society, improve social protection, and promote equitable socio-economic development across the country.

Social Safety Nets: The Ehsaas Program focuses on strengthening social safety nets to provide targeted financial assistance and support to vulnerable individuals and families. It includes initiatives such as cash transfers, income support programs, and emergency cash assistance during crises or natural disasters.

Education and Skills Development: The scheme emphasizes the importance of education and skills development for breaking the cycle of poverty. It supports initiatives to increase access to quality education, vocational training, and scholarships for underprivileged students. It also promotes skill development programs to enhance employability and income generation opportunities.

Health and Nutrition: The program prioritizes improving access to healthcare services and addressing malnutrition among marginalized communities. It includes initiatives such as health insurance, free medical camps, nutrition support programs for pregnant women and children, and the establishment of health facilities in underserved areas.

Women Empowerment: Recognizing the critical role of women in poverty alleviation, the scheme promotes gender equality and women’s empowerment. It includes initiatives to increase women’s access to financial resources, entrepreneurship opportunities, vocational training, and microfinance facilities. It also supports programs for the protection of women’s rights and addressing gender-based violence.

Housing and Infrastructure: The program aims to improve living conditions for marginalized communities by providing affordable housing options, upgrading slums, and developing basic infrastructure in underserved areas. It includes initiatives such as low-cost housing schemes, provision of clean drinking water, sanitation facilities, and access to electricity.

The Ehsaas Program is implemented through a multi-dimensional approach, involving various government agencies, departments, and local authorities. A dedicated Ehsaas Governance and Implementation Council oversees the program’s implementation, coordination, and monitoring at the national level.

Partnerships with civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, and private sector entities are encouraged to leverage resources, expertise, and innovation for effective implementation.

The program ensures transparency and accountability through the use of technology and digital systems for the identification and targeting of beneficiaries. It also facilitates public access to information, complaint mechanisms, and grievance redressal.

The Ehsaas Program aims to achieve significant positive outcomes, including:

Reduction in poverty and inequality through targeted financial assistance and support.
Improved access to quality education, healthcare, and nutrition for marginalized communities.
Enhanced employability and income generation opportunities through skills development and entrepreneurship programs.
Empowerment of women by increasing their access to resources, rights, and economic opportunities.
